# Setting up an Infusionsoft Thermometer
Once logged in to Customer Thermometer head to Thermometers \> Add new Thermometer \> Helpdesk \> Select Infusionsoft
This will then open up your Thermometer Builder where you can create your survey and thank you pages.
### **The Question**
This section of the builder is where you can choose the design of your survey including naming your Thermometer, adding your question and selecting your survey icons or uploading your own bespoke icons. The below video will demo all the customization which can be achieved in this section.
### **Connect your survey**
In order for identifiable data about your recipients and senders to display within your reporting area, you first need to capture it. This would be done at the point that the email is sent, by including merge fields/variables from Infusionsoft within the Thermometer code.
The most common Infusionsoft variables are shown below for you, however, you can add more if you wish.
These variables will capture the corresponding pieces of identifiable data from Infusionsoft and present them alongside the recipient's feedback rating within your reporting.
### **Response options**
In your *Connect your survey* area, you have additional response options. Here you can choose whether to enable a [lockout](https://support.customerthermometer.com/knowledge/lockout-how-to-limit-responses) and set your [email alert notifications](https://support.customerthermometer.com/knowledge/how-to-set-up-email-alert-notifications).
Separate multiple email addresses with commas.
### **Thank you page**
It’s time to get those Thank you pages looking beautiful!

### **Embedding your survey into Infusionsoft**
Once you've finished designing your Thermometer, the 'Give me my Thermometer' section will provide you with your finished survey to embed into Infusionsoft. Click the 'Copy to clipboard' button to copy your survey HTML to embed into Infusionsoft.
Inside Infusionsoft, navigate to the Marketing area and view Templates.
Your Templates will be listed. You will now insert your Thermometer into an existing or new Template.
You’ll be able to trigger that Template as part of a workflow or a campaign. We don’t cover that here.

Create a new template, or edit an existing one.
Fill in the basic attributes of the email. To create or edit the email body, click the button shown.
Editing the body will take you into the Email Builder.
You will need to insert a snippet of HTML code (copied from above).
Click the “**Snippets**” tab. Click and drag the HTML block to the right place within the body:
Once the snippet is in place, click it to edit it. You’ll see a popup.
Paste the Customer Thermometer embed code into the HTML box. Click Save:
Once saved, you’ll be returned to the email body.
Finally, add this email template to an Infusionsoft workflow or campaign.
