Currently, our Slack integration does not include custom field data, only the rating, comment, Thermometer name and recipient email are included. However, there is a way around this by using Zapier and our webhooks together.
Let's get started!
1. Create your Zap
Firstly, you’ll need to make a zap by heading into Zapier and hitting the ‘Make a Zap’ button. From there please select Webhooks > Catch Hook.
Copy the custom webhook URL supplied and head back into Customer Thermometer in another browser tab.
2. Webhook set up
Head to the drop-down in the far right-hand corner and select 'Automations'.
From here select 'Configure Webhooks' and then 'Add new endpoint' - give it a name.
Paste the URL you just copied into the 'Enter the endpoint URL' section.
You'll also need to select your event triggers too.
Once completed scroll down hit ‘Test fire webhook’, it should state green delivered.
If successful click the 'Linked Thermometers' tab and choose the Thermometers you want this webhook to be linked to. It can be 1 or more and save.
3. Connect Zapier and Slack
In Zapier hit continue and then test and continue.
Choose your app which is Slack > ‘Send Channel Message’ > Choose your Slack account and channel you’d like to use.
For the ‘Message Text’ click the box to build out what data you would like to be pulled into your channel.
For example:
Custom 2, 3, 4 etc will pull through the matching data you are capturing in that custom field from within your Customer Thermometer account. For example, in the Thermometer we are using Custom 2 is capturing the agent's name who dealt with the ticket so I select Custom 2 in order for this to be included.
You can then customise the rest of the options presented in Zapier as you wish as they are optional.
Here’s also a Customer Thermometer icon URL you can use for the image URL if you’d like:

Finally, hit test and your test message should appear in your selected Slack channel including all the custom fields you've applied.
