Create your Active Campaign Embedded Thermometer
Create a new Embedded Thermometer.
Choose “Active Campaign” from the i) Embedded Thermometer type drop down box:
Generate your embed code
Click the ‘Generate embed code’ button. Then you will see a window popup.
At this point, you can then edit/add the merge tags you’d like to use to capture your recipient’s or sender’s details automatically alongside the recipient’s rating.
We have pre-populated a few for you already to enable you to capture the recipient’s first and last name as well as the company name automatically. If you’d like to capture more data such as the sender details you can find the list of Active Campaigns data merge tags here and then insert them into the spare custom fields (1-10).
Click “Generate HTML” and copy the HTML code generated.
Add Thermometer icons to your templates
1. Navigate to ‘Campaigns’ within Active Campaign > ‘Templates’ and then either choose an existing email template or create a new one to edit as you normally would.
2. To display your Thermometer icons, you will need to add an HTML block. Select the “</>HTML Block” element and drag it to the relevant part of your email body. Click the block and paste in your survey embed code into the Code window. Click “Save”.
You’ll then see the icons with their tracking links appear:
If you are using a HTML template within Active Campaign you can of course just paste your code directly into the template.
Customize the HTML code as you see fit, to merge the design with your newsletter.
