Create your LanDesk Embedded Thermometer
Create a new Embedded Thermometer.
Choose “Basic HTML” from the Embedded Thermometer type drop down box.
Generate your embed code
Click the Generate embed code button. You will see a window popup.
To capture identifiable data about the recipient and sender etc we use LanDesk’s variables within the survey code. Enter your LanDesk variables in the field within the red rectangle as shown below. These variables will provide identifiable feedback and dictate which data is captured alongside Customer Thermometer rating. You can add more variables if you wish, click ‘Add more fields’.
These attributes can be looked up in the Object Designer in the LANDESK Service Desk Console. Object attributes can be either out of the box default or user-defined, depending on how your LANDESK Service Desk suite was configured.
We recommend using the following variables:
{RaiseUser/EMailAddress} {RaiseUser/_FirstName} {Customer/Title} {LatestAssignment/User/Title} {_Product1/FullName}
There are both default and custom-defined placeholders here, it does not matter which ones you use.
Click the pink “Generate HTML” and copy the text into your clipboard.
Adding Thermometer icons to LANDESK templates.
Once you’ve generated your HTML snippet, you will need to add it into the relevant LANDESK email template from within the Service Desk Console:
Your console may look different.
When a ticket closed email survey is sent, the merged variables will pull together the relevant LANDESK Placeholders and will populate the Customer Thermometer tracking links.
All identifiable feedback records will then be stored in your Customer Thermometer reporting for viewing and analysis.
