Create your Spiceworks Embedded Thermometer
Create a new Embedded Thermometer.
Choose “Basic HTML” from the Embedded Thermometer type drop down box.
Generate your embed code
Click the Generate embed code button. You will see a window popup.
To capture identifiable data about the recipient and sender etc we use Spiceworks' variables within the survey code. Enter your Spiceworks variables as shown below in the red rectangle. These variables will provide identifiable feedback and dictate which data is captured alongside Customer Thermometer rating. You can add more variables if you wish, click ‘Add more fields’.
We’ve included some example variables below:
{{recipient.email}} – this is the email address of the user {{recipient.first_name}} – this is the first name of the user {{recipient.first_name}} - this is the last name of the user {{ticket.id}} – this is the id number of the ticket {{ticket.assignee.email}} – this is the email address of the assignee
You can also add other Spiceworks variables available here.
Click ‘generate HTML’.
Copy the HTML generated in the box on the right hand side.
Adding Thermometer icons to Spiceworks Templates
Head back into Spiceworks.
Goto Settings > Helpdesk Settings, then click view/edit where it says Ticket Notification Templates.
Paste the HTML snippet into the relevant Ticket Notification Template in Spiceworks:
If you place the HTML after the line:
{{ticket.last_comment.body | escape | simple_format}}
.. the Thermometer will then appear after the latest comment, but before the old comment stream.
You are free to place the Thermometer wherever you wish.
Click ‘Save’ when you’re done.
Thermometers will now be added to each email that leaves the system.
In your Customer Thermometer reporting area you will be able to see who responded, the ticket number, who it was assigned to and more.
